An Unplanned Plan
My Beloved Reader, (Peace and Blessing be upon you)
Amid overwhelming emotions
What if I decide to
run away?
What if I run away
from myself?
Then whom will I run
to?
I'll run to my
creator
Who waits for me,
For me to return to
him.
-Asma Khan (from the poetry Whom Will I Reach To?)
Let's go on a journey together, shall we?
Let’s go back in time and remember at times when things
weren’t going well in your life and suddenly, your loved one calls you
unexpectedly and talking to them lightens your heavy heart or your cousins or
friends came over to surprise you or simply your mother cooks your favorite food
and swiftly everything starts feeling alright and the sadness just fades away.
Now recall how all this made you feel happy? Content? Grateful?
Blessed? Loved?
That’s God's way of blessing you in multiple ways just to
make you happy.
Isn’t it perfect how God finds unexpected ways to surprise
us with His uncountable blessings when we are drowning in this world's stress
and expectations?
A couple of days before a friend of mine messaged me asking
for a suggestion after an unexpected incident that had struck her &
basically, she was asking me for a plan that would help her overcome the situation.
I tried putting myself in her shoes and thought about what
plan or actions would have helped me to overcome the current situation my
friend is in. As soon as I asked that question to myself, I instantly got the
answer from within like a whisper and it said, “Sometimes not having a plan is
also a plan”.
It still amazes me how Allah SWT plans out everything. As He
knows the bigger picture while my limited human brain can comprehend only what
I can see but He can see the seen and the unseen.
My heart instantly reminded me how I at times of my crises
should trust the lord and his plans. As it is well said that, We plan and God plans and God is the best of all planners for us whether we understand it or
not.
Later, I messaged my friend back with the answer, and she showed up the other day without any plan to face the situation and... things didn't go poorly.
Now, when I’m writing this letter for myself and my readers
I’m realizing how truly and well said it is that Verily in the remembrance of God
does the heart find rest.
It reminds me of one such incident which happened to me last
week where I desperately needed the help to get one of my works done and I
reached out to the people whom I thought would be able to help me but, in the
end, all I got was disappointment.
After trying my best when things didn’t seem like they would
change, I decided to leave it in the care of God. And a day later my work was
done just like that. While, writing this
down the inner me feels so grateful that God always answers our prayers. We
just need to ask Him sincerely.
Things left in the care of God always return unimaginable
times better than we can think of.
Just like that sometimes not having a plan or a way out of a
problem is also God's plan to bring us closer to him and when you find him you
have found everything else.
So, at times when my heart feels overwhelmed and can’t find the light, I run to my Lord the source of all light who is always waiting for me to help me and bless me.
Finding the light and blessings,
-Asma
