NEET and JEE exams to be held as per scheduled: SC

Breaking] Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Postponement NEET ...

The SC on Monday, cleared that the exams of NEET medical exam and JEE( Joint Entrance Exam) will not be postponed further and will be held in September. Amid Coronavirus when India has crossed the bar with 30 lakh cases SC remains standstill on its decision implying that the further delay in exams would result in the waste of "previous year" for the students.

on Saturday Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "Center is playing with students lives" instead of that SC should rethink and should look for "alternatives arrangements". In the series of his tweet the Delhi Chief Minister said, "There can be a thousand safer alternatives".In another post he said, "The thought process that NEET and JEE is the only alternative is an impractical thought.Worldwide education systems are adopting new methods... why can't we do it in India? It is not wise to put students' lives at stakes for an entrance exam".

Justice Arun Mishra, who headed a three-judge bench on the SC said,"Life cannot be stopped .We have to move ahead with all the safeguards and all... Are students ready to waste one whole year? Education should be opened up. Covid may continue for a year more. Are you going to wait another year? Do you know what the loss to the country and the peril to the students is?"

Students are in distress and tormented between choosing career and live when the SC has decided to held the exam from September. Students are still in confusing regarding health and career after the government has assured them about transportation facilities.

Globally exams were held in much different ways amid Covid, in Italy, about 500,000 students took the oral exam in mid-June instead of written exams. France cancelled its entire baccalaureat exam for the first time since its introduction under Napoleon in 1808 and went ahead with oral exam. The Netherlands, too, cancelled its final exam and awarded students with final marks based on course work and schools' own test.
