Students in distress as SC to hear the case on 27th july.

University Grants Commission(UGC) stands still about taking exams amid Coronavirus pandemic. A group of 31 students has filed the petition against the UGC on its decision to conduct the final year exams till the end of September.The case has now been listed for the hearing on 27th July.

On 6th July UGC released the revised guidelines for universities to compulsorily conduct exams for final year students. Because of which students from different states have come together to quash against the new guidelines.

Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked UGC to explain if universities can conduct exams through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), open choices, presentations and assignments instead of the old form of exams.

It has asked the universities to conduct the exams in an online format or offline format(traditional method) or the mixture of both.

A Bench headed by Justice LN Rao, before which a petition by 31 students from 13 states and one UT seeking cancellation of final year examinations came up, said the matter would be heard by another Bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan after two days i.e on 27th July in Supreme Court.
